The player may choose to select more than one possible outcome for a match in order to increase their likelihood of correctly predicting the result. This is known as 'hedging'.
There are two different types of hedging; a half-hedge and a full-hedge.
A half-hedge is when a player predicts two (2) possible outcomes of a match, i.e. home win or draw (1 X), home or away win (1 2) or draw or away win (X 2).
A full-hedge is when a player chooses all three (3) outcomes of a match, i.e. home win, draw and away win.
A player may hedge on as many of the 14 matches as he wishes. When a player uses hedging the ticket will consist of a system of combinations, where the sum of this system can be viewed as the number of single combinations. For example, using 2 half-hedges and 1 full-hedge will result in a system of (2x2x3) 12 single combinations. The computer will automatically calculate the player's system as half and full-hedges are added. |
